Coaching Beginners Volleyball NQF Level 04

In achieving this unit standard, the learner will display the competency required of a volleyball coach with primary focus on activities that lead to the game of volleyball, in areas where the facilities may need to be adapted.

The coach will be teaching the basic skills of volleyball to beginners of the sport to generate interest and to encourage new entrants to the game. The qualified learner will be able to explain the basic components of volleyball, showing understanding of the principles of the sport and be able to demonstrate the skills needed by beginners to the game of volleyball, utilising standards and/or adapted games.

On achievement of this unit standard, the learner will be able to:

• Impart knowledge of the game of Volleyball.
• Plan volleyball practice sessions.
• Conduct coaching for beginners.
• Provide feedback on coaching performance.
• Reflect of coaching performance.
